How to Calculate Your Minerals & Supps

Supplement Calculation Guide

This guide is designed to assist in calculating supplement doses for addressing mineral deficiencies and optimizing health outcomes, based on Oligoscan, CMA, and HTMA data. It highlights the importance of identifying both actual and functional deficiencies in minerals such as silicon, magnesium, iodine, selenium, and others, and adjusting supplement intake over time for effective restoration.

Regular monitoring of Oligoscan or CMA results is advised for tracking progress in remineralization and inflammation markers. The protocol includes specific dosing recommendations based on interpreted data, taking into account different thresholds from standard report layouts. It also offers guidance on
managing high heavy metal levels and correcting electrolyte imbalances in hair tests, underscoring the importance of precise supplementation and timing for overall health improvement.

Understanding Deficiencies and Restoration:

Oligoscan Data:
Reveals actual deficiencies in silicon, magnesium, iodine, selenium, molybdenum, etc. Monthly checks are recommended for monitoring remineralization progress.

CMA Data:

An advanced diagnostic tool designed to uncover intracellular deficiencies by analyzing white blood cells—including their mitochondria and distinct metabolism—to offer a detailed look at cellular health.

HTMA Data:

Identifies functional deficiencies in iron, manganese, copper, etc., indicative of inflammation over time. Recheck as desired for inflammation, strontium, and rubidium levels and adjust supplements accordingly.

Note: Excess mineral absorption is usually safe, except for specific conditions like Wilson’s disease.

Interpreting Reports:

Oligoscan Reports: Use "a" in "Normal" as the minimum threshold and aim for "o" in "Normal+" for ideal levels. Utilize final binders (e.g., activated charcoal) for heavy metal detoxification.

So-Check Reports:
Focus on the core values, ignoring the two outer columns, to follow the dosing guide.

Specific Deficiencies and Corrections:

Electrolyte Excretion:

Indicates low cellular uptake in HAIR tests; address deficiencies in potassium, rubidium, calcium, strontium, magnesium, and lithium accordingly.

  • Zinc Levels: High levels suggest low histidine or protein intake.

  • Low Phosphorus: May indicate parathyroid issues or acidemia; consider sodium bicarb treatment.

  • Low Sulphur: Suggests issues with transsulfuration or microbial interactions.

  • Low Iodine with Fluorine Excess: Opt for tamarind consumption to increase fluorine excretion.

  • Iron Supplementation: Critical if transferrin saturation% is below 18%; most oral supplements may not be effective and could feed pathogens.

Ordering Supplements:

Timing: Expect 2-3 weeks for HTMA and OAT results. This period is ideal for ordering required supplements, considering delivery times from vendors.
